The Department of Indigenous Affairs is committed to a fundamental change in the way Indigenous issues and opportunities are addressed in Western Australia, and the way Indigenous people are engaged, as equal partners, in policy development and decision making which impacts upon them.Strategic Plan 2010 - 2012

In 2009-10 the Department’s work was strategically reformed and redesigned to address this commitment.

The Department recast its strategic priorities through the development of the Strategic Plan 2010-2012, to reflect both its progress and the substantial challenges that lay ahead.

The three key result areas of leading and influencing; supporting land, heritage  & culture; and building capacity have provided a strong focus and direction for all planning and performance monitoring throughout the Department.
